Crystal Palace made a 25 million bid for Benteke, but we want 30 and turned it down.

Toon apparently in talks with Dimitar Berbatov. 35, just released by PAOK. Reckon despite his age he'd be a good signing, especially if we get rid of Cisse and Riviere, and potentially Gouffran. Still, haven't seen us linked with many central defenders this summer, other than Lewis Dunk and Steven Caulker. Would take either of those two.

Now why would we sign a central defender? It ain't like we've needed one for the past 20 years. *major eyeroll*

Crazy bids. £100m, you could buy an entire football tier of clubs for that.

Nope, but with Mane coming in and Markovic coming back from loan I'm guessing Ibe is pretty far down on the pecking order. Seems we've got a nice buy-back clause in there though, just in case.

- Fenerbache are in contract talks with Martin Skrtel

- Sergio Canos seems to be on way to Norwich, around a 2.5 million fee.

And according to something that shares its name with that 90's football show that had a most spiffing theme tune, the Old Lady of Turin are after Sissoko.

I got a feeling that the Sissoko will he won't he go story will be going on for the whole transfer window. He, his agent and Rafa have all made statements regarding various things said at various points over the past season about how long he would stay, how much we would accept for him, we want him to stay etc. Gonna be a long hard summer when you cheering for Toon.

Sky sources understand Manchester City have made an official approach for West Ham midfielder Reece Oxford.

Oxford, who is contracted to West Ham until 2018, made his first-team debut at the age of 16, starring in West Ham's opening-day 2-0 win at Arsenal last season.

The England U-19 international has since played a further 11 games for Slaven Bilic's side and is viewed as the club's brightest young prospect.

West Ham are thought to be only considering bids above £10m for Oxford, who rejected a new deal at the club earlier this summer.

And Gini Wijnaldum will be announced as a Liverpool player in the coming 48 hours for a fee rumoured to be in the region of £25mil. Always selling the good ones. As long as Rafa puts the money to good use as he seems to have been doing with his signings so far
