KHL-team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in flight crash

Russian KHL-team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl had just lift from the ground when their plane started to burn and crashed in the ground. On the plane was 44 passengers. 42 died. One player, russian winger Alexander Galimov and a plane technican survived with serious injuries and were rushed to hospital. According to a official statement the whole main roster + four junior players was on the plane. Players like former NHLers Pavol Demitra, Karlis Skrastins, Karel Rachunek, Josef Vasicek and Alexander Vasyunov, Swedish international goalie Stefan Liv and czech superstar Jan Marek was a part of the Lokomotiv players that were on the plane.

HOLY SHIT!

There were some great players on that plane, some huge names. My God, wow.

I had the pleasure of knowing Pavol Demitra while he played with the Wild of the NHL. In fact, he was my neighbor, lived three doors down from him. Such a shame. My God, I'm stunned.

Lads, I'll take an extra stake for you next time I am on the rink.

Fuck me, lost for words.

Pavol was a bit of a legend for the Nucks the last 2 years and helped in playing a massive part in our run to the Stanley Finals.

Just gutting to see that this happened - and with all the players, a lot who we knew from the game in NHL or through Olympics etc.

I was totally shocked when I heard this news. hearing some big names involved in the crash there really shook me up
