Wimbledon 2008

So it seems its this time of year again when the Sun is always shining(supposedly <_<) and the Great British public shout "Mon Tim!!" at their T.V screens. Yes, its the highs and lows of Wimbledon and this year, Andy Murray is our only real shining light. Is it his year? Nobody knows but one thing can be promised; some rain. Will anybody be cheering on Andy Murray this year and will you all be tuning in? We may all have an idea which Swiss man will win this year but maybe, just maybe, Mr Federer can be knocked off his high horse and then the tournament is blown wide open.

It starts on Monday and have you any thoughts on who will win; both in the Mens and the Womens and also can Murray do what Tim never could?

I hope Nadal wins it. I really can't stand Federer and his boring style of play.

Finally, a forum with some tennis fans. I love it.

'MON DJOKOVIC!!! For obvious reasons. (Look at my nationality)

Hes a quality player but sometimes he's big headed and gives up too easily. But he has won a Grand Slam and beaten Federer in straight sets so he is definetly a big contender.

I agree about Novak, future world no.1 imo would love to see him win Wimbledon :D

To be honest he has come closest to beating Nadal this year on clay and on grass. It's just that on some big moments he bottles it and allows his opponent back in the game.

Shocking result.
Marat Safin produced an inspired performance to defeat third seed Novak Djokovic in straight sets.

The former world number one won 6-4 7-6 6-2 on Centre Court as Djokovic, tipped as a potential champion, crumbled under the pressure.

Djokovic was one of the favourites for the title after claiming his first grand slam at the Australian Open in January and reaching the semi-finals at the All England Club 12 months ago.

But the young Serbian looked completely out of sorts as Safin, the hugely talented but infamously-erratic Russian, powered to victory.

"For me to beat Djokovic on Centre Court, especially on this surface, is a great match," Safin said.

\o/

It was more Safin showing that he's unbeatable when on form then it was Novak being shit imo. Players like Safin, Nalbandian, Ferrer, Gasquet, Murray and Blake are all unstoppable when they're on form like Safin was today. Federer and Nadal wouldn't have done a whole lot better against Safin when he was playing like this, absolutely superb. However said players also manage to have absolute stinkers as well.

Looks really determined, I think the turning point was when he turned it round from 5-4 down to 6-5 up in the third set.

Have to agree - Gasquet is just gone imo.

Confidence, legs, play.

Murray is still looking fresh and ready.
